The 7,413-yard champion course designed by “The Big Easy” Ernie Els is a challenging course with back tees covering a range of 6,732 yards and regular tees spanning 6,226 yards, as well as generously wide fairways, allowing you to swing your driver with confidence.
There are 114 strategically placed bunkers throughout the course, and risk-reward shots are challenging but extremely satisfying. Mr. Els designed this course to suit every golfer, whether amateur or professional, with beautiful water features—some being troublesome. The hole layout has been configured in conjunction with the trade winds, which means Hoakalei is the type of course that could play different from day to day.
Hoakalei challenges golfers in their play. With the effect of Oahu’s unique trade winds, reading the ripples of the ponds and striking the ball cleanly down the fairway is a thrill in itself.
